Houston Chargers Cricket Club runs competitive men's teams and a growing junior academy. Our coaches work with players across the club — from first-time juniors to league sides — planning and leading regular sessions, developing individual players season by season, and setting the standards the club is known for.

Batting Coach
Lead our batting programme across the academy and senior squads, from grip and stance with juniors to match-situation planning with league players.
What you will do
- Plan and run weekly batting sessions for juniors and seniors.
- Work one to one with players on technique, shot selection and scoring areas.
- Use video and match data to set each player goals for the season.
- Prepare batters for specific opponents and conditions alongside the team captains.
- Support selection with honest, evidence-based assessments.
What we are looking for
- Strong batting background at club, league or representative level.
- Coaching qualification (USA Cricket, ECB Level 2 or equivalent) — or the experience and willingness to gain one.
- Experience coaching juniors as well as adults.
- Available for evening and weekend sessions through the season.
- Eligible to work in the United States and to pass the background checks required for coaching juniors.
Bowling Coach
Develop bowlers of every type — pace, spin and the all-rounders in between — with a focus on repeatable actions, control and staying fit through a long season.
What you will do
- Plan and run weekly bowling sessions for juniors and seniors.
- Coach action, run-up, seam and spin technique, and variations for each format.
- Watch and manage workloads to reduce the injuries that end seasons early.
- Build bowling plans for specific opponents with the captains.
- Track each bowler's progress and set goals for the season.
What we are looking for
- Strong bowling background at club, league or representative level (pace or spin).
- Coaching qualification (USA Cricket, ECB Level 2 or equivalent) — or the experience and willingness to gain one.
- Understanding of bowling workloads and injury prevention.
- Available for evening and weekend sessions through the season.
- Eligible to work in the United States and to pass the background checks required for coaching juniors.
Fielding & Fitness Coach
Own the two things that quietly decide close games: fielding standards and physical condition. You will run fielding practice for every squad and the club's strength, conditioning and injury-prevention work.
What you will do
- Run fielding sessions — catching, ground fielding, throwing, wicketkeeping basics.
- Set and hold the club's fielding standards across all squads.
- Plan and deliver strength, conditioning and mobility programmes suited to cricket.
- Lead warm-ups and recovery on match days and guide players returning from injury.
- Track fitness through the season and adjust each player's programme.
What we are looking for
- Coaching or strength-and-conditioning qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Playing or coaching background in cricket, and a good eye for fielding technique.
- Experience running fitness programmes for team sports; first aid certification is an advantage.
- Available for evening and weekend sessions and on match days.
- Eligible to work in the United States and to pass the background checks required for coaching juniors.
